- The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic Men's lay organization in the world. It was founded in the 1800's by Father Michael J. McGivney as a way for the surviving men of his parish to assist widows and their families. It has since evolved into an organization that works in many ways toward the betterment of the Church, the Catholic Community and the World in general.
The Knights of Columbus at St. Paul's is open to any Catholic man 18 years old or older. The following are examples of some of our activities:
- Various activities to raise funds to provide scholarships to our youth as well as support seminarians and other charitable causes.
- Assist with the Parish Fair, St. Vincent DePaul Christmas gift distribution and numerous other parish activities.
- Family parties several times during the year.
- Youth Free Throw competition.
- Support of Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.
- Providing soup and salad meals following Stations of the Cross during Lent.
To summarize, The Knights provide men with opportunities for fraternal and family fellowship, the right to purchase the best life insurance available, and numerous opportunities to contribute to the Church and community.
